Nigerians rush to register to NIN: NIMC

The official site of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has gone down as Nigerians battle to acquire their National Identity Number (NIN). 

The site has been down since Monday. 

Citizens assembled at an enrollment office in Lagos Monday as inhabitants battled to enlist for the NIN. 

This followed a mandate by the public authority for Nigerians to interface their NINs to their media transmission SIM cards inside about fourteen days. 

That cutoff time has now been extended by at least three weeks, as per a NCC articulation. 

NIMC had closed down its Lagos place, refering to an enormous number of individuals combining there who would not adhere to the COVID-19 conventions. 

The group had raged the NIMC office at Alausa, Ikeja, attempting to beat the cutoff time for the linkage of their sim with the NINs.
