Nigerian Soldier Honored in US

The United States has honored a Nigerian, Air Vice Marshall Mohammed Aminu Yakubu, for his commitment to the battle against fierce fterrorism. 

On Monday, the Commander, United States Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, General Jeffrey Harrigian gave Yakubu "The Legion of Merit" granted by the 27th US Secretary of Defense. 


While introducing the honor, Harrigian said Yakubu significantly further developed Nigeria–US military relations, which caused an expansion in United States backing to Nigeria in the battle against vicious radicalism during his residency as Defense Attaché. 

He added that AVM Yakubu additionally organized with different US government organizations for the primary visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the US, just as the first-since forever visit of a Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff to the US Africa Command in Germany. 

He said Yakubu's promotion and authority were instrumental in the securing of the A-29 Super Tucano airplane being accepted on Tuesday by the Nigerian Air Force. 

He added that Yakubu's predominant exertion, exceptional administration, and individual drive think about extraordinary credit himself, the Nigerian Air Force, and his country. 

The United States clarified that the Legion of Merit is one of its military's most esteemed honors regarding exceptional help and accomplishment.
