A funny thing happened on the way to the stadium — Chelsea fan

Chelsea fan Jack Ambler will review the Champions League prevail upon Manchester City in more ways than one as his £450 ($638) ticket went to waste, and he watched it with a Portuguese couple.

The 27-year-old made a trip to Porto for the last with three companions.

Notwithstanding, while they made it to the arena and saw Kai Havertz's first-half objective secure the 1-0 success over City, he didn't.

"Indeed, I had a ticket, £450, and I didn't make it into the arena," he revealed to BBC Sport.

Instead, he, somehow, ended up watching the last — which just 6000 Chelsea fans had the option to go to due to Covid limitations — with a nearby couple.

"So I watched it round some Portuguese individuals' home; they were decent," he said.

"I can recall being with Paulo and Nadina, they let me into their level, and no doubt I watched the game on their tablet."

One of his companions said they had no clue about what befallen their deviant partner.

"We had four tickets," he said.

"Us three made it, and we simply don't have the foggiest idea what befallen him."

Ambler conceded he was non-plussed concerning how the situation had transpired.

"It hasn't got an opportunity to soak in yet. However, I'm cheerful by and by," he said.
