FG to Elon Musk: We need Ventilators

On Twitter, The Federal Government of Nigeria called on Tesla Inc, an American and energy company owned by Elon Musk to supply Nigeria with ventilators to support its coronavirus patients.

This request was made by the offical twitter handle of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.  It was inresponse to a tweet by Tesla Inc stating it had ventilators available to ship for free. Tweets below.

“We have extra FDA-approved ventilators. Will ship to hospitals worldwide within Tesla delivery regions. Device & shipping cost are free. Only requirement is that the vents are needed immediately for patients, not stored in a warehouse. Please let me or @Tesla know.”

The Federal Government then responded saying that Nigeria needed about 100-500 ventilators to assist with the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.

“Dear @elonmusk @Tesla, Federal Government of Nigeria needs support with 100-500 ventilators to assist with #Covid19 cases arising every day in Nigeria,” the Ministry of Finance posted.

Other countries such as Ukraine also made similar requests to Tesla.

Do you think it was in bad form for the Federal Government to make such a request?
