Abba Kyari delivers bill to Buhari in London for signing (Photo)

On Monday, Chief of Staff to President Buhari, delivered a bill to Buhari who is currently in London on an unofficial visit. The bill amended the Deep Offshore (and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract) Act; a photo posted by Kyari captured the moment.

Buhari, who is scheduled to be in London for two more weeks, did not transfer power to his Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, before his departure from Nigeria. This therefore requires all documents requring his signarure to be delivered to him.

The Deep Offshore (and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract) Act was recently enacted by the National Assembly, and in a tweet, Buhari thanked them for making this "long overdue" enactment.

Buhari had earlier empasized the urgent need to review the fiscal terms for deep offshore oil fields during his 2020 Budget Presentation Speech before the National Assembly. He stated that these amendments need to be made to reflect current realities.
