"eNaira More Reliable Than Cryptocurrency" -CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria has said that the eNaira is more dependable than digital forms of money. 

According to its official site the recently introduced currency eNaira is defined as  "a Central Bank of Nigeria-issued digital currency that provides a unique form of money denominated in Naira. eNaira serves as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, offering better payment prospects in retail transactions when compared to cash payments. eNaira has an exclusive operational structure."

The CBN Director of Corporate Communications, Nnamdi Okwuosa, said this at the CBN Fair to enlighten stakeholders and the overall population in Abia and Ebonyi States. 

Okwuosa depicted the eNaira as a legal tender sovereign country and controlled by the Central Bank of Nigeria, though other cryptocurrencies are unregulated. 

He said, “Digital currency (eNaira) is more reliable than cryptocurrency which is not regulated.”

The fair, themed 'Promoting financial stability and economic development,’ gave a chance to partners and the overall population in the two states to comprehend the eNaira, shopper assurance, cash activities, installment framework the board, and improvement finance drives. 

He added that the CBN was continually looking out for dangers to Nigeria's monetary framework, placing it in at a vantage point that giving dependable financial counsel, adding that individuals "must listen to us.”

Okwuosa expressed that losing cash to con artists and unregistered monetary financial establishments will be curbed if individuals listen just to the bank and keep away from unregulated organizations.
