$200 Billion: Amazon's Jeff Bezos Now World's Richest Man

Jeff Bezos, already the world's richest man broke his own record after hitting an estimated $202 billion dollar fortune. As of last month, his wealth was pegged at $172 billion.

This increase in wealth is as a result of his holdings in Amazon stock  (AMZN) increasing by .25%.

 

 

Also billionaires along with Bezos are Mark Zuckerburg, Facebook (FB)  CEO,  a "centibillionaire,"  who is worth over $100 billion. On the verge of achieving this feat is Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, with a net worth of $96 billion. Microsoft (MSFT) founder Bill Gates has already made it.

And Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook also became a billionaire recently as shares of his company — now the world's most valuable — have soared. Cook is a rare example of an executive who didn't help found the company breaking into the ranks of the super rich.

The first centi-billionaire on the Forbes wealth index, Bezos has been the world's richest person since 2017 and was named the "richest man in modern history" after his net worth increased to $150 billion in July 2018.According to Forbes, Bezos is the first person in history to have a net worth exceeding $200 billion.
